The Caesar Rodney School District is pleased to announce that Mrs. Brittney Stewart has been appointed head coach of the Caesar Rodney High School Field Hockey Team.

Mrs. Stewart, who has served as an assistant coach for both the field hockey and girl’s lacrosse teams, was the goalie on Caesar Rodney’s 2004 DIAA State Championship Field Hockey Team. Mrs. Stewart competed collegiately at the Division I level while attending West Chester University.

Upon graduation, Mrs. Stewart returned to Caesar Rodney where she currently teaches Algebra I in the high school’s Freshman Academy.

“We’re so excited to have Brittney Stewart at the helm of the CRHS field hockey program. I’m certain that the young women on the team will learn a great deal about the game from her, and we look forward to her dynamic leadership on the field.” remarked CRHS principal Dr. Sherry Kijowski.

“It is an honor to coach at my Alma mater.” said Stewart. “I have a passion for this sport and a strong commitment to my Caesar Rodney family. As a member of the 2004 State Championship Team, I remember what it meant to me as a player, my coaches, and this whole district to bring home that title.”

“I also, remember the hard work that went into that success. I believe that through hard work, dedication and a passion for this sport we can once again make our community proud.” remarked Mrs. Stewart.
