At Caesar Rodney School District Board Meeting on March 16, there were a number of recognitions and “Spirit of Caesar Rodney” presentations made to students and staff for their outstanding efforts & performance on behalf of the district. Technology Resource Teachers Lauren Boulden and Carrie Busch were each given staff Spirit of Caesar Rodney Awards for their great work in designing and implementing the District’s successful remote learning model. Janice Yearick, a Project SEARCH paraprofessional for the John S. Charlton School, was also given a staff Spirit of Caesar Rodney Award for her quick response to a student-involved car accident in February 2021. Postlethwait Middle School 7th grader Sophia Clayton was also presented with student Spirit of Caesar Rodney Award for her amazing accomplishments as a youth DJ and her collaborations within the music industry during the pandemic restrictions.
Senior basketball player Jada McCullough was recognized for being one of 84 nominees from the eastern U.S. region for the 2021 McDonald’s All- American Girls Basketball Team, and her varsity accomplishments. Varsity Football Assistant Coach Brian Berns was honored for his 40-years of coaching, as well as his selection as the Delaware Interscholastic Football Coaches Association (DIFCA) 2020-2021 Assistant Football Coach of the Year.
Allen Frear Elementary School was also given a special tribute to congratulate them for being chosen as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School.
