    District News - December 6, 2023

    At a ceremony on Tuesday evening, December 5, Magnolia Middle School Paraprofessional Sinead Ronan was named the 2024 Educational Support Professional of the Year (ESPOY) by the Delaware Department of Education.  Ms. Ronan has 11 years of professional experience, and she came to the United States 16 years ago from Ireland.

    The Board of Education of the Caesar Rodney School District is pleased to announce that Dr. Corey Miklus has been appointed as the new Superintendent for the district. Currently the Superintendent for the Seaford School District, Dr. Miklus brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of accomplishment for educational excellence to this position. A start date for Dr. Miklus is yet to be determined.

    Jossette Threatts, paraprofessional at Major George S.   •  Hertrich Cash for Class

    District News - December 21, 2022

    Stephanie Cummings, a fifth grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Major George S. Welch Elementary School was recently awarded $400 as a winner of the Fifth Annual Hertrich Cash for Class competition. The award money will be used to support student’s interest in the popular Lego Robotics system. Lego Robotics is a great way to encourage students to learn about engineering and coding.

  •  Litter Free School Zone

    District News - September 23, 2022

    Allen Frear Elementary School served as the backdrop for Governor Carney on Thursday, as he introduced a new program encouraging students to keep their communities litter free. The program – “Litter Free School Zones” – was launched in coordination with Keep Delaware Beautiful, the Department of Transportation, and the “Keep DE Litter Free” initiative.

    After spending the last year as the Deputy Secretary for the Delaware Department of Human Resources (DHR), Dr. Jessilene Corbett has recently been chosen by the Caesar Rodney Board of Education to become the Assistant Superintendent to serve in the administration of Superintendent Dr. Christine Alois.

  •  Caesar Rodney School District  Receives $227,000 National Fish & Wildlife Foundation Grant for Habi

    The Caesar Rodney School District is proud to announce that it has recently received a $227,000 grant award from the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) as part of the Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund. The grant funds will be used to build capacity for habitat restoration and education across the district.

    District News - August 17, 2022

    The Band and Music programs of the Caesar Rodney School District recently received a generous donation from local musician and Air Force retiree Kevin Keene. Kevin gifted 4 electric guitars, 4 bass guitars, and 8 amplifiers to be used by music students at Caesar Rodney High School and the middle schools.

    District News - July 29,2002

    Earlier this month, Caesar Rodney High School principal Dr. Sherry Kijowski was named Administrator of the Year by the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP), at their annual conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. Congratulations to Dr. K, for this well-deserved honor!

    District News - June 21, 2022

    The Delaware Sea Turtle Project held a ceremony last week to recognize the Loggerhead as the official State Sea Turtle. Riaan Patel of Allen Frear Elementary was awarded 1st place in the Elementary Art Contest Category for Kent County. Aiden Smith (2nd Place) and Madysen Myers (3rd place) of Caesar Rodney High School were Kent County winners in the Sea Turtle Essay Contest, as well.

    District News - May 10, 2022

    Michele (Missy) Snyder, a second grade math teacher at Major George S. Welch Elementary School, has been selected as the 2022-2023 Caesar Rodney School District Teacher of the Year.  By being chosen as the District winner Mrs. Snyder is eligible for the State Teacher of the Year award that will be announced in the fall by the Delaware Department of Education.
