Homecoming Information

This year’s Homecoming Parade will follow a new route. Floats will begin at the corner of N. Layton Avenue and Front Street. The parade will proceed:

• South on N. Layton Avenue

• Left onto Camden Wyoming Avenue

• Left onto Main Street

• Left onto Old North Road
  The parade will conclude at Caesar Rodney High School. Please note this change when planning your arrival and viewing location.

Parade participants should check with their float advisor for their specific arrival time. Staging and preparation times may vary depending on the group.

Students may be dropped off at the following locations:

• Fred Fifer III Middle School

• The parking spaces along the road directly in front of W.B. Simpson Elementary School

• Legacy Field Parking Lot at Caesar Rodney High School

  • If you are parking at Legacy Field or nearby locations, we ask that parents walk their students to their float to ensure their safety. Constables will be present to help students safely navigate to the staging areas.

Yes. To ensure student safety, constables will be stationed at the four-way intersection of Old North Road and Caesar Rodney Avenue, similar to regular school dismissals. Parents are strongly encouraged to walk their students to their assigned float area, especially if parking at Legacy Field or other nearby lots.

No. The parking lots at both W.B. Simpson Elementary and the Caesar Rodney District Office will be closed to the public and reserved for floats only.

Spectators should plan to use street parking or park in lots that are clearly permitting spectator parking. When in doubt, please contact the location directly to confirm that parking is allowed. Parking at Caesar Rodney High School may be available but is limited and should not interfere with parade operations. We strongly recommend arriving early and allowing extra time to walk to your preferred viewing location.

After the parade, students can be picked up at W.B. Simpson Elementary or the District Office.
Students will be unloaded behind W.B. Simpson. After parking your vehicle in a designated space, please walk behind the school to retrieve your child.
Important: You must park your car. Driving behind W.B. Simpson is not permitted for pickup.

Yes. Streets along the parade route will be temporarily closed or restricted to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. Please follow all posted signage and directions from staff and law enforcement.

Yes. The district and participating schools may capture photos or video during the event for promotional use on official websites and social media. If you have concerns about student privacy, please contact your child’s school.

Yes. The Caesar Rodney Homecoming Parade is a community event, and all families, friends, and local residents are welcome to attend and show their support along the route.
