About F. Niel Postlethwait Middle We embrace several exemplary programs here at Postlethwait Middle School. Our Business Professionals of America (BPA) and Technology Student Association (TSA) has won multiple awards at the state and national levels. The Math League and Science Olympiad teams are top contenders as well. Our Junior Honor Society assists the Charlton Program's students with disabilities. Our Band Concert, Women's Choir, and Jazz Band all won first place at the annual Music in the Parks competition in PA. Our new Eco-Team focused on school-wide energy conservation, recycling, and maintaining a living classroom in the rear of the campus. We include our parents in many of our programs. Curriculum The CR School District has established a curriculum development process that supports alignment to the existing Delaware State Standards and Grade Level Expectations. This process involves teacher and administrative input through a Curriculum Cabinet and Council process. The preparation of our students as life-long learners in a global community of the 21st-century society is the unifying objective of this process. The curriculum not only identifies essential knowledge and skills but also supports students' development in problem-solving and gathering and using resources that will enable them to succeed. Each content area (English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Visual and Performing Arts, World Languages, Physical Education, Health, and Family and Consumer Sciences) also has an Assessment OF Learning and Assessment FOR Learning component which offers immediate feedback and data-driven assessments aligned with state standards.
