Ms. Michelle Flanders

Michelle Flanders is the Principal at the Countywide Program including John S. Charlton School and the Kent Elementary Intensive Learning Center.  Ms. Flanders has been working in the field of special education for over twenty years as a paraprofessional, teacher, consultant, educational diagnostician and assistant principal.  She obtained her undergraduate degree in special education with a minor in severe disabilities and autism.  Her graduate degree is from Wilmington University in Special Education and Administration.  As someone that has worked in school systems internationally, Ms. Flanders is focused on utilizing the research-based practices that can yield the highest outcome for our students.  Most recently, she was the Assistant Principal at a special school in Delaware and was responsible for multiple groundbreaking transition-aged initiatives for students with significant disabilities.  She is excited at the opportunity to work in service for the young adults in the Charlton program as they prepare for independence in life and work beyond the public school environment.  Ms. Flanders is a resident of the Caesar Rodney School District with her son who is a recent high school graduate.
