With schools closed how can I register my child?
Download a registration packet to get started!
Need a paper packet? Stop by McIlvaine (11 E. Walnut Street, Magnolia, DE 19962) to pick one up from the bin located outside our building.
What else do I need to register?
Don't forget to include the following items with your registration:
- A copy of your child's birth certificate
- Proof of residency (must be a lease or mortgage document OR deed if you own the property)
- A copy of your Photo ID
- A copy of your child's most recent physical including immunizations and proof of lead and TB testing.
I've got it all together...what do I do now?

I've got it all together but I can't email it...can I drop it off?
You can! The most secure way to drop off a packet is to turn it in at our District Office (7 Front Street, Camden, DE 19934). When you are facing our DO from Front Street there are 2 doors, there is a mail slot on the door to the right, please drop it in the mail slot in that door and it will be delivered to McIlvaine.
I've almost got it all together but I am missing some medical items...
While medical documents are a requirement for kindergarten registration we understand that many doctor's offices are closed. You can still register without these documents and we will get them from you at a later date.
I've got it all together but I live with someone and don't have a mortgage or lease!
Please provide the mortgage or lease for the person you live with as well as their photo ID. When we open schools back up we will have you & the person you live with come in to sign an Affidavit of Residency.
How will I know if my child is registered?
You'll receive an email response letting you know your packet has been received. If you turn it in at the DO it may take a couple of days to get an email response. If it has been a couple of days and you are curious about the status of your registration please email firstname.lastname@example.org to check!
I still need help!
Feel free to email or call us! You can call Monday through Friday from 8am - 4pm at (302)335-5039. If we don't answer please leave us a voicemail and we will return you call!
