What is geocaching you may be asking yourself? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices (typically cell phones). Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
Welch will be placing various geocache containers throughout our area to get parents and students actively getting out into our community and engaging you in family time/activities.
At each station you will locate the geocache. Inside the geocache box will be a notepad to sign and date, several trinket toys (typical geocache boxes contain items that you can take, if you leave an item), and a picture of Caesar Rodney. Use the enclosed picture of Caesar Rodney to take a family picture with him at the geocache site, and then send the picture via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. In the email please identify the student’s name and grade. This will allow us to provide your child with a dog tag that will identify them as completing the TDY (Temporary Duty Assignment).
Below are pictures of dog tags that students will receive when they complete the task and a picture of a typical geocache box.
