Mr. Cliffvon Howell, MS - Equity & Diversity Coordinator

I am a 22-year public servant for the State of Delaware.  I provided (11) years of service in the administration of juvenile justice planning and coordination during dual tenures with the Delaware Criminal Justice Council and I added (10) years of service as the State Mental Health Planner for the Department of Health and Social Services/Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health prior to joining the Caesar Rodney School District. 

 I'm the  product of Delaware’s public education system, first receiving my high school diploma from Cape Henlopen High School, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Delaware State University.  I completed my graduate studies at Wilmington University where I earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.  I re-invest the education I received from my alma mater with current DSU students as an Adjunct-Professor of History and Political Science where I proudly teach African American history.

I credit my Sussex County upbringing; K-12 education; and the experience at DSU as foundational for my success. Further, as a sophomore in high school, I began a lifelong pursuit of activism for social justice and equality.  I bring my public service career coupled with my passion for positively impacting the lives of juveniles to CR where I am uniquely positioned to use the skills and knowledge gained over my professional career with the networks and relationships I've spent a lifetime cultivating through civic community building activities.

As the District’s Equity and Diversity Coordinator my primary goal is to ensure that the students that we serve receive an education in an environment that is equitable and provides each student with the opportunity to thrive. Our students and their families will be at the center of my approach, and this office will be engaging all stakeholders as we pursue an approach to the education of our students that will make Caesar Rodney School District a leader in our state and beyond.
