LaToya Smith

LaToya Smith is the 2024-2025 Educational Support Professional of the Year for Caesar Rodney School District. This is her 7th year in the district as a Special Education Paraeducator at W. Reily Brown Elementary School. Prior to joining the district, she was an Instructional Paraeducator for 12 years at Academy of Dover Charter School. LaToya serves in numerous leadership roles within her building and the district. Some of these include: Family and Community Engagement Committee leader for W. Reily Brown’s School Leadership Team, building representative for the Liaison Team, and member of the Staff District Leadership Team. She has also served as secretary and vice president for Nellie Stokes PTO. In addition, LaToya commits her summers to providing services to students who attend the district's 12-Month Summer School Program. She works diligently to promote success academically, socially, and emotionally for all scholars. LaToya continuously cultivates positive relationships with scholars, their families, and her district colleagues.

When LaToya is not engaged within her building, the district, or community; she dedicates her time to her two sons- a 2023 Caesar Rodney High School graduate and a rising middle schooler.
