    About Nellie H. Stokes
     
     
     
    Nellie Hughes Stokes Elementary School has a mentoring program for at-risk students for the purpose of enhancing these students' social and emotional growth with an academic foundation. Teachers who volunteer as mentors make daily contact upon their arrival at school and then once a week for a more in-depth mentoring session. Our Coordinated School Health Team provides activities and information for both students and their families in relation to health and physical fitness. The History Club and Talented and Gifted programs provide opportunities for students to participate in state functions and competitions. Wednesday envelopes are a district wide form of communication where parents can look for interims, report cards, assessments, teacher notes, daily class work and PTO/school announcements.
