At Star Hill, we believe in each one of our students and we have a vested interest in them. During the past two school years, we implemented our S.T.A.R.S. program which was designed to acknowledge our students who choose to make the right decisions in school. When students have difficulty with a subject area, we reteach the content, or find another way to reach that child. Managing students is no different. If a child makes a wrong choice, it is our obligation to teach that child to make an appropriate decision the next time he/she is in the same situation. We also encourage students to maintain a healthy lifestyle through our walking program in which students can walk an eighth of a mile track on our playground. Throughout the year, we reward students who reach various mileage milestones by presenting them with walking awards. At the end of the year, the top walkers of the school receive a new pair of sneakers!
