Mrs. Rebecca Gravatt
District Lead Nurse: Rebecca Gravatt RN, MSN, NCSN
Mrs. Gravatt began her career as a Registered Nurse at Kent General Hospital in 1983. She started as a Medical Surgical nurse, but soon found her niche in the field of Mental Health Nursing. Mrs. Gravatt achieved National Certification as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse in 1987. She worked with adults and adolescents in the Inpatient Unit (ADAPTS) at Kent General. She subsequently became the Program Coordinator for the Adolescent Day Hospital in 1987. Mrs. Gravatt eventually transferred to the Staff Development Department as a Clinical Educator while also providing on call services to assist with mental health patients in the Emergency Department. Mrs. Gravatt completed her Master of Science in Nursing Degree with a focus in Health Promotion at Wesley College in 1999. She left Bayhealth to become a Nurse Consultant and taught Medical Surgical and Mental Health Nursing at Wesley College prior to finding her true calling as a School Nurse.
Mrs. Gravatt joined the Caesar Rodney School District as the school nurse for McIlvaine Early Childhood Center in 2001. She is a member of the National Association of School Nurses and the Delaware School Nurse Association. She achieved National Board Certification in School Nursing in 2004. Mrs. Gravatt is very passionate about her role as a school nurse in the Caesar Rodney School District and loves being able to support the needs of her students and their families. She also describes herself as very fortunate to be able to serve the district as the Lead Nurse for an amazing group of highly qualified and talented School Nurses.
