Mr. David Pearson

Born at Kent General Hospital in Dover DE on September 16, 1968. I was raised in rural Camden/Wyoming surrounded by several farms. I attended kindergarten through grade 6 at W. B. Simpson Elementary; attended Caesar Rodney Junior High School for grades 7-8; attended and graduated Caesar Rodney High School in May of 1986. While attending CRHS, I was failing a human behavior class and was given an option of "peer teaching" as to avoid losing my credits. Through this failure came an opportunity to find my passion for working with kids and pursuing a degree in education. I attended Delaware State College from 1986-1991, while working full time, and obtained Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I student taught and completed practicums at W.B. Simpson Elementary. I was hired several weeks before graduation by the Caesar Rodney School District in May of 1991. I worked at Star Hill Elementary School from 1991-1999 serving as Star Hill's building teacher of the year from 1998-1999. I am married to Michelle Pearson June 20, 1992 and has helped raise two wonderful children who are Caesar Rodney School District alumni classes of 2012 and 2016. Our son graduated fro the University of Delaware and now works for Linkedin as a software engineer and our daughter attends Marymount Manhattan College in NYC and is a Theater Production Management major. I transitioned to Postlethwait Middle School in August of 1999 and taught science for the Blue 6 team, while serving as team leader from 1999-2016 and serving as Postlethwait's building teacher of the year from 2005-2006. I completed my Master's in School Leadership in 2016 from Wilmington University. In December of 2015, I was hired as the first ever Dean of Students at Postlethwait Middle School. I started that position in February of 2016 and have served the school in this capacity since that time. I have just completed my 26th year as an educator.
