ESL Instructional Planning
Instructional programming provided to ELs address both English language development and academic content. ELs whose parents refuse services remain in the general education classroom all day without language support. In our elementary schools, ELs remain in the general education classroom for most of the day but are pulled out for language development support in a separate classroom. ELs who attend Welch Elementary School receive services at that school; all other elementary ELs receive services at Stokes Elementary School. ELs whose parents refuse services remain in their home schools.
In our middle schools, ELs remain in the general education classroom for most of the day but are pulled out for language development support in a separate classroom in their school. In our high school, ELs have and ESL class scheduled into their daily schedule.
