The Results of a Facility Assessment & Recommendations from the Resource and Development Committee identified the following needs:
INCREASE CAPACITY-Enrollment is growing-McIlvaine Early Childhood Center is over capacity-Caesar Rodney High School is over capacityIMPROVING LEARNING SPACES
-Construction of a new elementary school to meet the growing needs of the district
-Complete the original McIlvaine design with a 4 classroom addition to address increased capacity
-Construction of a 9th grade Academy at Caesar Rodney HS with 20 classrooms to provide flexible, collaborative learning spaces for the current curricula
-Complete the original Caesar Rodney HS design with a 10 classroom addition to improve student security and accommodate increased capacityADDRESSING AGING BUILDINGS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
-Existing maintenance to keep students and staff Safe, Warm, and Dry
-Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance standards currently not met
-Plumbing, heating, electrical, roofs and other key building systems need to be replacedIMPROVE AND INCREASE ATHLETIC FACILITIES-Increase access to athletic fields for all Students & athletic programs-Improve High School and Middle School Athletic Space-Upgrade and/or replace bleachers to meet ADA compliance
