--The Fifer Cross Country team attended the DAAD Middle School Invitational yesterday. Out of hundreds of middle schoolers the top 20 runners in the State were recognized with medals, and the top 3 teams in the state were awarded a trophy. Earning medals for the Boys, Fifer had both Jonathan Bush and Griffin Spana, with Griffin finishing 8th best in the state. For the Girls, we had another medal winner, Anna Hake.
To top it all off, Fifer's Girls put on a great team performance and were awarded the 3rd place overall trophy! For the first time this season the kids actually saw Mr. Mercer smile. Way to go Fifer!
--The Fifer Boys Soccer team beat Woodbridge yesterday 4-1. Fifer's defense, Evan Taraboletti, Amaziah Rulamkah, Trent Crossley, Bakari Smith-Diarra, Rafael Gibrial, played very solidly all game anchored by Addison Hall in goal with 11 saves. Scoring goals for the Riders were Bakari Smith-Diarra, Matthew Plews, Will Autman, and Daniel Marta. Thank you to all those that came out to support us.
--The Fifer field hockey team lost a hard fought battle yesterday to Woodbridge Middle 3-1. Despite the loss, the coaches felt it was the best game the girls played all season. The Fifer goal was scored by Maddy Beron. Fifer girls were so close to scoring many times so the fight was definitely there. The defense also played an amazing game with key saves by goalie Reghan Barber.
