    --CONGRATULATIONS to Kim Corbeil as the CR Board approved her at last night's Board meeting -- Our Principal of Fifer! 

    --CONGRATULATIONS goes out to our SPELLING BEE winners: 1st place to Hailie Wischmann; 2nd Place to Alex Budd; 3rd Place to Jade Buan; with runners up being Silas Myers, Noel Kim, and Brandon Kramer. Way to use your talent!

    --CONGRATULATIONS to Ava Rudis, Cecilia Delgado, and Cassie Meixell.  These awesome students successfully auditioned for and were selected to be members of the 2019 Delaware All-State Junior Band.  Great job ladies!  Ms Kirk is very proud of you!!

    --CONGRATULATIONS to the fourteen students from Fifer who were selected for the 2019 Kent County Honor Band.  They are: TJ Boxton, Jade Buan, Abigail Cholewa, Cecilia Delgado, Brian Drum, Vanessa Gaines, Brenna Geidel, Lily Gumus, Megan Hamlett, Shaurya Kumar, Cassie Meixell, Katrina Pizzi, Ava Rudis, and KJ Smith!!  These students will represent Fifer at the Honor Band Festival next month.  Great job everyone!!

    --Parents/Guardians:  this is our weekly RISE/Leader In Me Video: Teaching Tolerance” (1:43) (this link will change weekly).  It is shown in every Content class. We thought you might want to watch and discuss with your student.   Summarize the follow questions: What message did you hear in the clip? How does this connect to the Seven Habits? Ask your student to explain how or why they feel that way. You may find your student will connect it to more than one habit. Please don’t hesitate to share what YOU as an adult took from it, be part of the discussion. Call the Main Office with any questions. Some other ones that are review 7 Habits is The Motto, and The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens: Summary

    --Parents/Guardians:  Ask you student if they have received a RISE Award. These are awards given out every Friday morning to the entire student body for students that have been recognized for Rising to be the BEST Rider and showing Respect, Integrity, Selflessness and Excellence. 

    --FCCLA will meet every Wednesday, after school in room 126, until 3:15 pm, until March 20th. Each day you should have your Spring Leadership Conference paperwork, and a ride home no later than 3:20.  Parents are also encouraged and welcome to bring any questions or concerns to meetings.  We would love to have you join us!  Please sign-in at the front office first.     --The Fifer Wrestling team lost to Smyrna 63 to 24.  Winning for Fifer were Nathan Lloyd, Blake Cain, Bret Houston, and Brent Polk.  Our next match is WEDNESDAY the 23rd against Beacom Middle at Fifer!!  Chip Neese won by a pin in an exhibition match.

    --ATTENTION TSA MEMBERS!!!  There will be a mandatory meeting for all TSA Members this Thursday, January 17th from 2:30 - 3:30 pm. Please make arrangements to be picked up immediately after.

    --Attention 8th Grade Physical Education Students  It’s time for Fitness Test make ups. If you missed a test or need to redo a test here are the following dates you need to see Mrs. Prillaman during content class. See Mrs. Prillaman if you need a pass.  Wednesday—Sit up/Push Up retake during 5th period  Thursday—Pacer Test retake during 5th period

    --ART CLUB is Cancelled this Wednesday January 16thMs. G sincerely apologizes and art club will meet Wednesday January 22nd at 2:40 in room 133. Have a ride to pick up at the end of the meeting at 3:40 pm.

    --8th Grade Scheduling Night is Thursday, January 24th in the evening at CRHS. Information was mailed to the 8th graders. If you have 8th graders please encourage them to attend.  CRHS was at Fifer on Monday, January 7th to speak with our 8th grade students during 2nd and 3rd period.

    --All FCCLA Members:  There will be a meeting Wednesday, January 16th after school in room 126 until 3:15. Please have a ride waiting at the back of the school to pick you up at 3:15. Any questions, see Ms. Sanner.

    --Attention all BPA Members:  The theme for January's meeting is Interview Skills. We will be meeting Wednesday January 16th after school until 3:30. The Community Service committee and BPA Cares committee will meet Thursday January 17th during Content II. Check the rosters posted outside Mr. Mercer's room and in the 8th grade hallway. If you need to switch your meeting date or have any questions please see the morose Mr. Mercer

    --Are you tired from being stuck in the house over the holiday break and from being stuck in the house with all the cold weather and snow? Blue 7 has a way to help fix that!!! Come release some of your energy at the Blue 7 dance on January 25th from 6 - 8 pm...there will be dancing, open gym for $2.00, pizza, candy, soda, and buddy pictures for $1.00. The dance costs $5.00...come have a good time and support Blue 7 at the same time...can't wait to see you there.

    --Have you been wanting to eat at the NEW Grotto Pizza in Camden?  Here is the perfect opportunity to do that and help support the Fifer PTO!  The PTO will be holding a fundraiser there on Thursday, January 31st!! Bring family and friends from 4 until 9, show the fundraiser slip that will be sent home with you, (YOU NEED TO HAVE SLIP FOR SCHOOL TO GET CREDIT) and the PTO will get 20% of the profits to help with activities at Fifer.  See you on January 31st!

    --Outdoor sporting events, especially those on Marker’s Field, we ask spectators to park in the back parking lot of Fifer Middle School versus along the road by the field. We have a lot of spectators walking across the street and visibility is an issue. We need to keep our students and community safe.

    GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

    --Attention ALL STUDENTS: Here are a few reminders of the Fifer Middle School dress code. Tops cannot be halter tops or shirts that show your skin, such as the belly area or low chest area.  All bottoms (skirts & shorts) must be longer than your fingertips. The holes in jeans that are above your fingertips, must be covered. Gentlemen remember no headbands.  Remember rules after watching Dress Code video in your content classes. This week is your opportunity to ensure you are following the dress code. Students who do not follow the dress code will be sent to the office.  Remember do not leave home wearing anything that is not within the dress code.

    Homework Hotline Instructions:  1) Call the school phone number after 4 pm 698-8400; 2) When the message begins, push the room number of the teacher you want to hear; 3) It will ring approximately six (6) times; 4) Listen to the teachers' daily message; 5) If you are interested in another teachers' assignment, push #22; 6) This will take you back to the beginning of the school message; 7) Push the room number of the next teacher you want to hear; 8) Continue this until you have all your assignments to complete.

    The cafeteria is accepting money for your students’ lunch accounts. If you have any money (cash or check), report to the cafeteria as soon as you enter the building in the morning. If paying with check, please write the child’s full name, team, and grade level on the check. PLEASE do not wait until lunch time. If you are paying online, please go to http://www.PayPAMS.com. Stay informed about your student’s lunch account at your own convenience.
     
    ALL Students: You must turn in your absent and sick notes when you return to the school to AVOID lunch detention. It needs to be turned in immediately first thing in the morning as you enter the building. Stop by the office and see Mrs. Henry to turn in or if you have any questions on this issue.
