--The Fifer Book Fair is happening ONLINE right now at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/fiferlibrary. Purchase the books now from November 13th to November 23rd. Please follow this link and be the first to get the books. They even get delivered to your home!
Parent use this link https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/fiferlibrary to put money on the students account so that you don't have to worry about bringing money or checks to school. Use the eWallet information (just like their lunch accounts).Lastly, your students will come down to the physical Book Fair with their ELA teacher on their specific day. The physical book fair will be November 18th - 26th.
Parents are welcome to come look at the books or purchase what your students has requested on November 25th from 5 - 8 pm or November 26th from 12 - 2:30 pm.
--PARENTS: this is our weekly RISE Video: "Another Pep Talk From Kid President to You” (this link will change weekly). It is shown in every Content class. --Parents/Guardians: learn new skills and increase family strengths. FMS Mental Health Series is free quarterly parenting workshops available after school hours facilitated by licensed mental health professionals. The first workshop is Thursday, November 14th from 5 – 6:30 pm in FMS Library. RSVP if interested to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com by Thursday, November 7th. This workshop will help parents/caregivers learn nurturing skills that support their children; teaches parents/caregivers how to effectively discipline and guide their youth; and learn communication and bonding techniques. --Student Council: There will be a WHOLE GROUP meeting on Wednesday November 20th from 2:40 until 3:20.
--TSA Members: There is a Leadership Meeting for Officers, Chairs and Co-chairs only on Wednesday, November 20th from 2:30 - 3:30 pm. On Thursday, November 21st there is a VEX Robotics Meeting for all involved from 2:30 -3:30 pm. On Friday, November 22nd, there is a Video Game Design Meeting from 2:30 - 3:30 pm. --Have you gotten your 2019-2020 FMS Yearbook? What a great gift idea? The forms were given to the students’ last week. There are paper copies (click here for paper form) of this form in the main office or you can go to JOSTEN’s site and see what all is available (click here). The price is $25 for the basic yearbook until November 22nd, then it will go up. There are extras you can purchase now that may not be available later, such as personalization, many choices of icons to represent the real you, protective cover, name plates, signing pens, and more. Check out the site and see what you want to remember! If you are turning in a paper order form, please take it to Room 211 to Mrs. Brace.
--2nd Annual Freedom Biker Church TOY DRIVE is here!! There are boxes located in the Main office and Guidance Office for toy collection. The TOY DRIVE is collecting new unwrapped toys for boys and girls of all ages. Collection runs from now through November 30th. The drive will benefit the Sunday Breakfast Mission Homeless Shelter.
--Want to do something fun? Do you like to paint? Come paint a snowman with Paint and Create with Heather! This is a PTO Paint Party on Tuesday, December 10th at 6:30 pm here at Fifer Middle School. All supplies are included! It is a great time to spend with friends and family, plus could make a great gift. Space is limited!! In advance, you need to sign up and pay online. --Outdoor sporting events, especially those on Marker’s Field, we ask spectators to park in the back parking lot of Fifer Middle School versus along the road by the field. We have a lot of spectators walking across the street and visibility is an issue. We need to keep our students and community safe.
--Attention ALL STUDENTS: Here are a few reminders of the Fifer Middle School dress code. Tops cannot be halter tops or shirts that show your skin, such as the belly area or low chest area. All bottoms (skirts & shorts) must be longer than your fingertips. The holes in jeans that are above your fingertips, must be covered. Gentlemen remember no headbands. Remember rules after watching Dress Code video in your content classes. This week is your opportunity to ensure you are following the dress code. Students who do not follow the dress code will be sent to the office. Remember do not leave home wearing anything that is not within the dress code.
