Ms. Jen Stone (School Counselor)

Hello! I am so excited to be joining the Star Hill Elementary team as your school counselor.   I graduated with my Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a Minor in Special Education, Masters of Arts in Psychology, and Masters of Education in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling. I have 10+ years experience working with children from elementary to high school in different capacities. Collectively, these experiences set the foundation for my work as a school counselor. I decided to pursue a degree that would allow me to help children become more successful students, work with them to help them effectively deal with a variety of problems, and inspire them to do their personal best in their lives.  I am dedicated to the understanding of child development and behavior along with the social emotional wellbeing of all students. I am passionate about fairness and social justice in education including embracing diversity and inclusion. I stand firm that all children have the right to equitable learning opportunities regardless of race, class, culture, gender, sexual orientation, ability or disability status. Every child can achieve their full academic, social, and emotional potential to be successful through building strong relationships, emotional resiliency, and positive school climate.

I am married to Josh, my highschool sweetheart, and together we have five amazing boys, Kaden, Gabe, Preston, Cooper, and Jax.  In my free time I enjoy baking, crafting, reading, camping, and spending time with family.

I’m looking forward  to working with all of the students and families at Star Hill Elementary and look forward to meeting all of you. Please visit the description of the school counseling program and counselor/student relationship sections of the website to learn more about my role in the school and how I can assist you and your child. Also, please feel free to contact me at Jennifer.Stone@cr.k12.de.us or by calling the main office  if you need any assistance.
