Brook Fuchs

Hello, my name is Brook Fuchs, and I am the assistant principal of J. Ralph McIlvaine Early Childhood Center. I am thrilled to work with your family and your student as they begin their educational career as a Caesar Rodney Rider! Here at McIlvaine, we pride ourselves on rigorous academic programs, nurturing staff members and a love of learning! We look forward to the opportunity to help your child develop a love for school!

I am originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I attended Salisbury University where I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary and early childhood education. I also received my master’s degree in reading from Salisbury University. More recently, I attended Wilmington University to obtain my school leadership certification. I began my teaching career in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland as a second grade teacher. I also taught first grade during my time in Queen Anne’s County. In 2005 I got married, moved to Delaware and began my work at McIlvaine as the reading specialist. I continued in this role for the next nine years. In 2011, I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for McIlvaine. As I begin my sixteenth year as an educator, I will continue in my role as assistant principal here at our school.

At home, I am the proud mother of three McIlvaine graduates! My son is currently in third grade and my twin daughters are in first grade. My husband and I have been married for ten years. We love to spend time as a family traveling and going to the beach.

Please remember that McIlvaine is your school. We want you to feel welcome at all times.  Do not hesitate to contact me with your questions, concerns or positive remarks. We hope your child is having a fabulous year at the home of the littlest riders!
