BAND CONCERT FLOWERS – The PTA is providing band member families the opportunity to send that special band member a beautiful flower bouquet on their special night (January 26)! Each bouquet is $5.00. Bouquets are available for preorder only. Preorders can now be purchased using credit/debit cards! The link for online ordering is on the Welch PTA Facebook page. Forms are due back no later than January 23rd. (Check and cash – send in exact change only).
CHORUS – Practices start next week: Tuesday for the Blue Group and Wednesday for the Gold Group. Mrs. Walls will open the 3rd Grade entrance for students starting at 7:00 am for chorus practice. Please email Mrs. Walls if you have questions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
2ND GRADE – permission slips for students who asked for a speaking part in the 2nd Grade Concert are due to Mrs. Walls by Friday.
PARENT TELEPHONE MESSAGES AND EMAIL CONTENT – Unless there is an emergency, teachers will not be called from their classrooms during the school day. Parents who would like to speak with a teacher by phone are requested to do so at a time that will not interfere with instruction. Teachers will make every effort to respond to email communications within 24 hours or at their earliest convenience. See page 41 of the Caesar Rodney District Calendar.
VISITORS – Parents are welcome to visit schools, however, you must report to the main office immediately upon entering the school. If a parent wishes to speak to a teacher, it should be done by arrangement before school begins or at the end of the day. Visitors are not permitted to interrupt classroom activities. Conferences with teachers and principals can be arranged by calling the school office. See page 45 of the Caesar Rodney District Calendar.

2017-18 School Choice open enrollment begins Monday, November 7th, 2016 and closes Wednesday January 11th 2017. Kindergarten School Choice is open until the first day of the 2017-18 school year. Applications can only be done on-line and will be available on the district website at http://crk12.org under School Information in the School Choice folder on Monday 11/7 at 8:00am. All applications require proof of residency be uploaded and Kindergarten applicants must upload the student birth certificate.
WHO MUST APPLY
o All Kindergarteners, 5th graders, and 8th graders who are attending one of the CR schools and who live out of district (Inter School Choice) must apply to roll to 1st grade, 6th grade, and 9th grade.
o All Kindergarteners and 5th graders that live in the district (Intra School Choice) and are attending a CR school by Choice and want to roll to a school other than their home school must apply. This includes the language programs for the elementary student.
o All students that live within the district and want to change schools.
o Any student who is not currently attending a CR school and would like to attend one of the CR schools.
Students currently attending CR School and applying must submit:
o Supplemental form
o Proof of residency
The only accepted proof of residency is current mortgage, rental or lease agreement with parents name and address on it, OR current electric, gas, oil, propane, water or sewer bill with parent name and address on it If the parent cannot supply one of the about POR they need to contact me.
